We Are Connected One To Another!

Connected: join together, unite, associate in the mind

There are those who have actually grown up with the misguided notion that they can have their own Church right where they are and as such, they believe that Church attendance is unnecessary. How tragic it must be to be satisfied with a religion that's based on isolation. Time and time again, the scriptures confirm our need for one another. Not to mention, Hebrews 10:25 tells us, "Let us not neglect our Church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near" (The Living Bible).

We shouldn't be isolated because the Bible tells us that we need one another; after all we are all the body of Christ. We are members connected to one another, and because we are connected, there are things that we should be doing for and to one another.

  • First, we must Love one another. Love is the  glue that's going to hold us all together.
  • Next, we must Accept one another. Roman 15:7 tell us, "Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God." Simply put, we need each other to survive.
  • The word goes on to say that we must Admonish (to warn or correct) one another. Of course, we should probably examine our own life first and not try to make everyone tow the line according to our expectations. Instead, let's encourage one another to be like Jesus. Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
  • The scriptures also tell us to Edify (to improve morally) one another. "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another" (Romans 14:9). No one wants to go to Church and get beat down verbally - the world does a good enough job of that. So instead, "let no corrupt communication proceed out of your  mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."

As Christians we are connected together, and we need that time of fellowship together - we really need one another to survive. So, if you don't have a church home yet, make it your mission to find one!

With all that said, let the Church say Amen... and AMEN!
