Change Your Thoughts, God will Change Your Ways!

Change: to alter, to be come or make different

The Word of God informs us, "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7). In other words, if we change our thoughts, God said that He would have mercy on us and abundantly pardon (i.e. to forgive some one for an offense) us. God is not concerned about how bad we used to be or how we missed Him in the past, we can start right now changing the way that we think and the way that we do things.

Isaiah 55:8-9 explains, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." God is letting us know that we need to change our thoughts - because it's our thoughts that influence how we feel and how we feel influences how we act (or our ways). When we allow God to change our ways, He will change us from the inside out!

Psalms 37:1 says, "Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity." God is telling us not to focus on what's going on in the world. Instead, we need to change our thoughts and the ways that we think and act, and we need to get in His Word. There is SO much going on around us in the world, but what they are doing or what's not happening is not and should not be our concern. God wants us to step into His law and get into His word. As we get into His word we will start to soar into another realm. God wants us to get rid of our old way of thinking that we have to make things happen. Focus on His way by getting into His word and building ourselves up in the word so that He can begin to lift us up.

We can't just read the word. We can't just meditate and think on the word. We have got to believe it and trust in it. It does us no good to read the word and know its there - no, we must develop a belief in it. When God sees that we are delighting in His word, He will give us the desires of our hearts... which means we don't need to depend on the government, our employers, or anyone else - it's between us and God. He did not say that we would have to meet any kind of special condition.

When our thoughts match up to His thoughts, it's a game changer! As we stay in His word, He is going to change our ways and give us the desires of our hearts!

With all that said, let the Church say Amen… and AMEN!
